Learn 6 Ways To Be a Champion For Foster Youth and Young Adults.
For the month of May, to show our support for Foster Care Month, we will be highlighting young adults and sharing their experiences as an advocate for foster youth. Read Adrian’s story below:
” I want to bring attention to the diverse ways that foster youth may live in their own communities.”
Adrian has big aspirations to change the way in which the needs of foster care youth are recognized. Those aspirations are followed by immense effort and participation in his community to advocate for safe self-expression for foster youth. Adrian makes an active effort to be culturally competent, as he engages with foster youth to hear their voice and understand their needs and priorities. Adrian enjoys presenting to foster care youth and educating them on resources and services available to young adults in foster care, such as the Independent Living Program, Transitional Independent Living Program, and the Education Training Voucher.
