It was the word “opportunities” that caught Frank’s attention. He was a high school freshman when he first heard about Opportunity Passport™. Now a junior at Arizona State University (ASU) majoring in Political Science, Frank is glad he got involved in the program.
When I was in foster care, there wasn’t enough money, which made it really hard to save. So, I thought it was neat that if I saved half of the amount for an asset, Opportunity Passport™ would contribute the other half.”
Frank had participated in financial education classes sponsored by Opportunity Passport™ and was saving money, but he hadn’t decided on an asset. Then, in the midst of working on graduate school scholarship applications, Frank’s computer crashed. “I knew I needed a laptop to finish my undergrad coursework and to complete the grad school applications, so I decided the Mac was the best investment for me.”
Working with Opportunity Passport™, Frank purchased the laptop well before the scholarship application deadlines.
I think Opportunity Passport™ is a great program. Everyone who’s been in foster care should be involved in this program.”
